Since I first met Todd Snider in 2006, I’ve exchanged emails with him on a regular basis. It’s not unusual to receive multiple emails from him in a single day.
Sometimes he sends free-form poetry, like the piece The Snider Files published on Dec. 26, “When People Say They Want The Truth.”
Other times, Snider shares links to interesting and/or entertaining music and mini-docs on YouTube. This morning I got an email from him with a link to a clip from the film Where the Buffalo Roam, which stars Bill Murray as Hunter Thompson. Here’s what Snider said about the clip:
“this speech moves me
like all great speeches
‘it’s just as true today’
this is a scene from my soul movie
the first and only movie
that i ever loved”
Snider gave me a permission to share the above video and email with subscribers to The Snider Files. He also asked that I tell you his poems are just unedited musings he makes up for fun, and that he refuses to stand by anything that sounds like he’s making a point.

Todd's words and music has moved me in the way he expresses the same about how this clip moves him. Inspiration to one begats inspiration to another in various and mysterious ways. Empathetic people understand this best. When something resonates to your soul, it's a powerful thing.
What are the chances of Todd returning to perform again?
Is it possible?
