If you don’t know the name Dave Marsh, you should. One of America’s preeminent rock critics and authors, Marsh helped legitimize rock music as an artform worthy of serious criticism as an editor at first Creem and later Rolling Stone, where he edited the first two editions of The Rolling Stone Record Guide and wrote a majority of its reviews.
Marsh has authored more than 20 music books and helped launch the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He also hosts a popular Sirius radio program Kick Out the Jams. He’s a living legend, and it’s a big deal if he writes the bio for your record.
